what students and teachers are saying:

They made learning improvisation really fun and it was cool to make music without reading notes on the page.
— 7th grade student, Boltz Middle School, Fort Collins, CO
Usually these experiences can be intimidating, but the musicians were so fun that I really enjoyed it!
— Emi, violin, 15
That program was absolutely magnificent in every way. The masterclass was interesting with those young people just getting started on their adventures in chamber music, the terrific questions and then the extraordinary playing of the PUBLIQuartet. They did a super job with all aspects of the 2 hours.

The students LOVED the improvisation workshop. The members of the PUBLIQuartet were inspiring in their performance, engaging from start to finish and clear in their directions. The kids were able to improv with rhythm, melody, and texture by the hours end, with many students taking on the chance to improv a solo during the big group “jam.” I certainly hope to have the quartet back again to build on what they have started. After 3 full hours of violin group, orchestra, the improv workshop, and after a long day of school, they all went home at 6:00pm still bubbling with energy. Today they experienced another side of music, one that I too am now excited about exploring more myself.

It was a fantastic experience. My mind was opened up to all these new musical possibilities, and my passion for music was totally refreshed.

PUBLIQuartet was very engaging and helped us learn without pressuring us to do things we didn’t want to do.
— 7th grade student, Boltz Middle School, Fort Collins, CO
To see our no-longer child and already-accomplished violinist receive such intelligent and creative coaching from the now internationally renowned PUBLIQuartet on this globally streamed event was an unimaginable treat. The energy and creativity imparted by these passionate players had immediate results on the playing of our young quartet and I’m certain will continue to imbue them with the spark of imaginative playing in their future.

I thought it was really cool how we learned and had fun at the same time.

Wonderful to watch and hear this interactive experience with PUBLIQuartet and the young musicians. It was especially exciting to hear the transformations in the young ensembles and the encouragement from PQ to experiment, explore, breathe and use their imaginations. Bravo to everyone!
